Cricket Formats Explained
Before betting it is important to know the characteristics of each format — because different formats have different markets.
T20
20 overs per team, usually a 3-4 hour match. The most betting markets are available in this format — the best for live betting. BPL, IPL, BBL and PSL are all played in this format.
ODI (One-Day)
50 overs per team, a full-day match. ICC World Cup and bilateral series are played in this format. Half-time bets and innings-based markets are available.
Test
A 5-day match with unlimited overs per innings. Odds shift from day to day. Markets include match draw, winner, series result and session-based betting.
The Hundred
England's new format — just 100 balls per team. An extremely fast-paced game where odds change on every ball. Easy to follow for new bettors too.
Football Betting
Alongside cricket, football fans in Bangladesh can also bet on their favourite leagues at jb99. All major matches are covered including the Premier League, La Liga, UEFA Champions League and FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Keep in mind — major European matches kick off after midnight Bangladesh Standard Time (BST). Make sure your deposit and bets are placed in time.
Home/Draw/Away
Cover two outcomes
Total number of goals
Both teams to score
Handicap to level the contest
Bet on a specific scoreline
How to Read Odds
Odds at jb99 are displayed in decimal format — the easiest to understand. Decimal odds represent your total return (including your stake).
Total return = ৳500 × 1.80 = ৳900
Net profit = ৳900 – ৳500 = ৳400
The lower the odds, the higher the team's perceived chance of winning. Odds of 1.30 imply roughly a 77% chance of winning — but the profit is smaller. Odds of 3.50 imply roughly a 29% chance — but the payout is higher if you win.
| Format | Example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal (ours) | 1.80 | ৳180 back on a ৳100 bet |
| Fractional (UK) | 4/5 | ৳4 profit on a ৳5 bet |
| American (Moneyline) | -125 | Bet ৳125 to win ৳100 |
Implied Probability
Use this simple formula to calculate probability from odds:
For example, odds 2.00 → 1 ÷ 2.00 × 100 = 50%
Keep in mind — because of the bookmaker's margin, the sum of all implied probabilities exceeds 100%. That is the house edge.
Quick Tips
- Don't put all your money on a single bet
- Live odds change fast — stay focused
- Set a budget before you play
"Our core goal is to ensure a safe, fair, and exciting betting experience for every player in Bangladesh."
RTP and House Edge Explained
RTP, or Return to Player, is the percentage a game returns to players over the long run. For example, if a slot game has an RTP of 96% — in theory, for every ৳100 wagered, an average of ৳96 is returned to the player and ৳4 goes to the casino.
However, RTP is a long-term average — it does not work out exactly this way in a single spin or even a hundred spins. In any given session, you could win significantly more or lose significantly more.
Knowing the typical RTP range for different types of games makes it easier to plan your budget:
| Game Type | Typical RTP Range | House Edge |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 92% – 98% | 2% – 8% |
| Blackjack | Around 99% | Around 1% |
| Roulette (European) | 94% – 97% | 2.7% |
| Baccarat | Around 98.9% | 1.1% |
| Crash Game (Aviator) | Variable | Variable |
House edge is the casino's mathematical advantage. It exists in every type of casino game — it is not manipulation, it is built into the design of the game. Understanding this fundamental concept before playing betting or casino games will make you a more informed player.
What is Volatility?
Volatility describes how often wins occur in a game and how large they tend to be.
Small but frequent wins — good for longer sessions.
Big wins are possible but many spins may come up empty — suited for a larger budget.
Local Card Games
Card games familiar to Bangladeshi players are now available online — with a live dealer or against other players.
Teen Patti
An Indian-Bangladeshi card game played with three cards. Each round, the dealer gives every player 3 cards. The best three-card combination wins. Start with the minimum bet and fold if you don't get a strong hand.
Live Dealer & MultiplayerAndar Bahar
The dealer reveals a middle card. You bet on whether the next matching card will land on the Andar (inside) pile or the Bahar (outside) pile. Very simple rules, fast-paced gameplay — ideal for newcomers.
Live DealerCallbreak
A trick-taking card game for four players where spades are always trump. Each round you must declare how many tricks you expect to win. Winning more than your declared number earns bonus points. Played against other players.
MultiplayerLudo Quick & Pool Rummy
In Ludo Quick, play the familiar Ludo board against online opponents — dice roll automatically. In Pool Rummy, you form sets and sequences with your cards; the first player to do so wins.
